Ghorepani Poonhill Short Trek can be completed in 10 days. It does not cover large area of Annapurna Region. However, it became very popular in short time because of stunning panoramic sunrise view of Himalaya Range including Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Manaslu, Machhapuchhre. Of course, the ultimate destination of this trail is Poonhill which is only 3210m high from sea level. Ghorepani Poonhill Trek is very suitable for budget travelers. So budget travelers mostly choose Ghorepani Poonhill Trek. This trail is designed for those travelers who want to grab all the majestic experience of Annapurna Region in short time.

All ages of group can make their trip plan to Ghorepani Poonhill since it is not so difficult.

By the way, Ghorepani is a village and Poonhill is of course hill situated on its head. Ghorepani offers wonderful experience of rich culture of Gurung and Magar Inhabitant and the central Himalaya Range in Nepal.

Depending upon you hiking speed and holiday time, Ghorepani Poonhill Trek usually can be completed within 8 – 11 days. We have designed 10 days’ itinerary for Ghorepani Poonhill Trek considering the busy schedule of today’s generation. However, if you would like to customize this trip, we are always ready for it. Or you can go for Annapurna Base Camp Trek and Annapurna Circuit Trek if you want to spend little bit more time to explore Annapurna Region.

  1. Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu airport
  2. Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour
  3. Day 02: Kathmandu to Pokhara drive (950m elevation)
  4. Day 03: Pokhara to Tirkhedhunga (1577 m elevation)
  5. Day 04: Tirkhedhunga to Ghorepani (2855m elevation)
  6. Day 06: Ghorepani to Poonhill and Tadapani (2630 m elevation)
  7. Day 07: Tadapani to Ghandruk (1950m elevation)
  8. Day 08: Ghandruk to Pokhara
  9. Day 09: Drive/fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu
  10. Day 10: Final departure

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu airport

After your arrival at Kathmandu Airport, one of our staff will pick you up and transfer to hotel. You take rest there for a while to get refreshment of so long travel. Overnight in Kathmandu


Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour

Today, after having breakfast, we start Kathmandu sightseeing tour that covers historical and spiritual attractions in Kathmandu Valley. Basically, you are taken to explore Boudhnath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, Kathmandu Durbar Square and the last but not least Pashupatinath Temple. Overnight in Kathmandu Hotel


Day 02: Kathmandu to Pokhara drive (950m elevation)

As per our schedule of journey, we begin the trip by drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. On the way of the travel, you can enjoy landscape view overland greenery of hills. After reaching in Pokhara, you are transferred to a hotel near Phewa Lake. Overnight in Pokhara


Day 03: Pokhara to Tirkhedhunga (1577 m elevation)

After having early breakfast, our trail leads to Pokhara to Nayapul drive which is 50 km fart from Pokhara. Then we walk from Nayapul to Trikhedhunga enjoying the magnificent views of Himalaya Range including Mt. Manalsu, Mt. Annapurna and Mt Dhaulagiri. This will take about 3-4 hours to reach on Tirkhedhunga. Overnight in Tirkhedhunga


Day 04: Tirkhedhunga to Ghorepani (2855m elevation)

We continue our trail after having breakfast. We cross a stream called Bhurungdi Khola and reach in a large Magar Inhabitant – the village is called Ulleri. Then, we take a gradual uphill along the cultivated fields and the rhododendron forest. After 5-6 hours of walk through forest, we reach in Ghorepani. Overnight in Ghorepani


Day 06: Ghorepani to Poonhill and Tadapani (2630 m elevation)

Today is the ultimate destination of our trail because we are going to reach in Poonhill. Early in the morning, we make an uphill climb toward Poonhill and enjoy the Himalayan sunrise view along the majestic panoramic view of Mountains. After spending few hours there, our trail climbs along the ridges and through rhododendron forest to Deurali. After 6 hours’ trek, we arrive in Tadapani. Overnight in Tadapani


Day 07: Tadapani to Ghandruk (1950m elevation)

The trail continues toward Ghandruk Village after early breakfast. Tadapani to Ghadruk descending trail takes about 4 – 5 hours.


Day 08: Ghandruk to Pokhara

We have breakfast and head up toward Pokhara valley. After 2-3 hours walk, we take bus and come back to Pokhara. Overnight in Pokhara


Day 09: Drive/fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu

This is second last day of our trip. We take bus in the morning after having early breakfast. After 5-6 hours, we reach in Kathmandu. Today evening, you can do shopping. Overnight in Hotel Kathmandu


Day 10: Final departure

Today comes to end our journey. Now you are free. You can make your other plan. If you want to go back to your home, one of our staff will take you to airport.
