Tsum Valley Trek offers unforgettable majestic Himalayan landscape views of worlds’ highest mountains – Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167M), Mt. Manaslu (8163M), Mt. Annapurna (8091M).

Tsum Valley Trek is a way to feel the true glimpse of Tibetan cultures in Nepal. It is a hidden heritage of Nepal. The word Tsum comes from Tibetan word Tsombo which means vivid hidden valley of happiness. The valley is situated at the northern side of Gorkha District, Nepal, surrounded by Himalchuli and Ganesh Himal. Tsum Valley is full of ancient art and cultures. The Tsum Valley inhabitants has their own way of life and communities. Polyandry System (i.e all brothers in a family are married to a girl) has been still being followed by inhabitants of Tsum Valley, and it may be indeed surprising to many outsiders.

Being a controlled area, foreigners require a special permit for Tsum Valley Trek. The place is still unexposed as comparison to other tourist places. Indeed, this place used to be restricted place until 2008, after then government has marked all restricted places of Nepal into controlled places. Its remoteness has made it far from modern development. However, its natural and cultural beauties are completely different than other places.

Normally, this trek starts and ends in Aarughat, where we reach by 7 hours’ drive from Kathmandu valley. Throughout the trip, you get to enjoy and explore the hidden valley of the Himalaya. We passes few ethnic villages and glacial rivers as well as alpine forests.

The Himalayan Guide has also committed to provide a good alternative of this trek. As an alternative, we suggest you to do Manaslu circuit trek which is also a controlled area and needs special permit.
