Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing

Situated at the elevation of 1300m above sea level, Kathmandu is naturally a beautiful city of Himalayan Country, Nepal. Its weather is neither too cold nor too hot. Kathmandu is a historical city of Nepal. It has passed through reigns of several kings of several periods. So there are still several monuments and fossils that prove the existence of those periods. On each and every street of Kathmandu, there you see at least a temple. That is why, it is also known as the city of Temples. But you get amazed when you see Hindu and Buddhist both worshipping Swayambhunath Temple, which also shows the religious tolerance among the people of Kathmandu.

Basically, Kathmandu Sightseeing includes 6 heritage sites in Kathmandu Valley. They are Boudhnath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square and Swayambhunath Temple.

Boudhnath is a sacred religious place for Buddhist. There are several stories about the construction of Boudhnath Stupa. It is a largest Stupa in Kathmandu Valley. In 2015’s earthquake, it was badly affected. Now it has been reconstructed without losing its old texture by the help of local people.

Pashupatinath Temple is a temple of the mighty Hindu God “Shiva” which is situated at the bank of Bagmati River. Only Hindus are allowed to enter the main section of Pashupatinath Temple. However, other religion people are also allowed to enter into Pashupatinath Area. Like Boudhnath Stupa, it is also a UNESCO world heritage site.

Kathmandu Durbar Square is a historical area of Kathmandu valley. It is located at the midst of Kathmandu Valley. When there was Kingdom of Mallas, here was the palace of Malla King. In that time, Kathmandu was a kingdom inside Kathmandu valley. Like Kathmandu, there were also 3 kingdoms and they are Kirtipur, Patan and Bhaktapur. Among them, Kathmandu was most powerful kingdom.

Situated at the center of Lalitpur district, Patan Durbar Square has also been listed in UNESCO world heritage site. Malla King resided in this palace. So that it is one of the most historical places in Kathmandu Valley. Patan Durbar Square reflects the marvel of Newari Culture and Arts.

Bhaktapur Durbar Square resides about 8 KM far from the center of Kathmandu Valley. It has located occupying larger area than Patan and Kathmandu Durbar square and also very far from crowds.

Nagarkot Tour

Nagarkot is very famous for attraction of the sunrise view. Sunrise view and scenic view from Nagarkot Hill is outstanding. It is located 32 KM east of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur District, Nepal. Nagarkot Hiking offers one of the widest panoramic views of Himalayan Range.
